THE RISK are a band I know really well, being my local mod out fit for some years, when I lived in my home Island of Guernsey.
Have know Mark and the boys for some years, helping out The Risk and their other bands, Single File and Private Eye.
Always a brillent live band (I've seen them enough) and have released some excellent records, even EMI showed interest in them at one point, but it wasn't to be, coming from a small Island was a handicap that never got in their way though, even going to California for a year!!
THE RISK came back in 2002 with a fantastic new studio album 'Songs from the big tomarto' on Twist ' records and have recently 'New Religion' from the album on Biff bang pow records debut compilation cd along with the likes of
The Solarflares ,Long Tall Shorty ,Small World and The treads.
Live they also played @ the Modaid alldayer with a host of other bands like Mark joesph and Rinaldisings and more recenly @ Birmingham's Modsmay 2009 evenT with the likes Squire, Sta press, LTS etc
More exciting news is that all bands albums are now being released on Detour records off shoot label, Paisley Archive!
Loud shirts & Stripes was released April 2011 with sleeve notes by me!
Mark one mini lp is next release, bonus tracks, like ITC Flexi 'Maxine' and rare band pictures will also feature in the forth coming cds, these are a ltd edition of only 200 copies on Cd ( see link to order and more info)
